Project Highlights:
Responsible for overseeing a major nationwide coffee retailer account, this role revolved around meticulously managing and optimizing a diverse portfolio of client leaseholds. This entailed maintaining close communication with client representatives and ensuring that each lease site met the client’s rigorous environmental requirements. Her responsibilities included proposals, budgeting, coordination with the legal team, investigation of properties, reviewing property records and consultant reports. She worked closely with cross-functional teams to mitigate environmental risks and protect stakeholder interests.
Managing teams conducting comprehensive inspections, assessments, and testing for hazardous materials, including asbestos-containing materials (ACMs), lead-based paint, and mold infestations in telecommunication facilities. Compliance Sampling for New York City Sewer, New York State DOT Effluent Limitations, and Investigations. Responsibilities included scheduling, coordinating, and executing quarterly field sampling events for several flush truck facilities throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens.
Stormwater System Field Inspections and Reporting and Management for NYSDOT, this included performing routine inspections of drainage systems at a national retail chain as part of a national monthly maintenance contract. This included observation of site drainage patterns; review of the mechanical integrity of manhole covers and drywells, and documentation of inspection in a monitoring report that includes recommendations as necessary for site improvements.

Ms. Moran-Botta was responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing projects from initiation to closure. This included leading cross-functional teams, managing project budgets and schedules, and ensuring that project objectives were met. Ms. Moran-Botta used her effective verbal and written communication skills, and problem-solving skills to deliver successful projects that met or exceeded client requirements.
Ms. Moran-Botta also played pivotal roles in hiring, training, and mentoring junior staff; leading the health and safety committee for years; creating and executing a formal training program; as well as a variety of other functions needed in a smaller organization.
Project Highlights:
Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) Remedial Investigation (RI): Ms. Moran-Botta worked as the Project Manager for a New York State Class 2 Inactive Hazardous Waste Disposal Site on Long Island, New York. The main contaminants of concern were PFAS associated with the historic use of Aqueous Film-Forming Foam (AFFF). The investigation included soil, groundwater, and stormwater sediment in six areas of concern.
Northport Middle School Comprehensive Environmental Investigation. The investigation aimed to evaluate subsurface and indoor environmental conditions at the Middle School to determine if there were existing environmental conditions and exposure pathways that might result in adverse health effects for the students and staff occupying the school. This project included coordinating with the school district and with several government agencies including the Suffolk County Department of Health, the New York State Department of Health, the Department of Environmental Conservation, and the US Environmental Protection Agency. The investigation included an extensive review of historical documents dating back to the selection of the school’s site and original construction, as well as a subsurface investigation consisting of soil, soil vapor, indoor air, and groundwater sampling and an industrial hygiene investigation consisting of visual inspection, infrared imaging, and indoor air sampling. Due to the nature of the investigation, this project had a substantial public relations component.
Phase I/II/II Environmental Site Assessments and Remediations across diverse environments, including E-Designation sites, Brownfield sites, retail centers, industrial sites, military installations, unexploded ordnance (UXO) sites, research facilities (e.g., Brookhaven National Laboratory), mining operations, agricultural sites (farms, vineyards, commercial greenhouses), shipping and manufacturing facilities, residential concerns (individual structures, developments, gas stations, pipelines, fuel farms, airport hangars and airside areas, and train stations.
Conducted and managed all aspects of asbestos, lead, and mold inspections, reporting, planning, and remediations throughout New York State and in the five boroughs of New York City for multiple clients, including major hospitals, international airports, and airline carriers, custom home builders, nationwide retail chains, manufacturing facilities, defense contractor facilities, environmental remediation sites, retailers, local shopping centers, real estate developers, banks, and insurance companies.
